Accounts Payable Salary

Accounts payable are defined as the transactions arising from a company purchasing goods or services on account. The goods and services are purchased based on a promise for future payment. This purchase on account creates a liability known as an account payable. An accounts payable is considered a current liability on the balance sheet and/or financial statements. It is considered a current liability due to its quickness in being converted into cash. An accounts payable normally has a credit balance. Accounts payable salaries range from hourly to yearly salaries. The clerical positions such as Accounts Payable Clerks are usually paid hourly. The average rate for this position varies from $8-20 per hour, depending on the firm and firm's region.

Accounts Payable Accountants are usually paid a yearly salary. Depending on the firm's size, firm's region, individual's experience, and other factors - this position averages around $40,000 annually or $17-20 hourly.

Accounts Payable Managers are usually paid a yearly salary, also. Depending on the firm's size, industry, individual's experience, and other factors - this position can earn from $40-90,000.

Cost Accounting Salaries

Position salaries are dependent upon the entity's size, geographical location, and individual position responsibilities. The smaller, more localized a firm, the smaller the salary range. Larger, national and international firms with large cost accounting departments mean greater job responsibilities. Hence, these will bring in larger salaries. These are average annual figures:

Cost Accountant averages $30-45,000. Same goes for a Cost Reporting Analyst.

A Cost Accounting Manager can make an average of $55,000.

Cost Accounting Supervisors average $60-70,000.

Director of Cost Accounting can average around $125,000+.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Salary
